cheeseweed’s cousin

This week we’re on tile #6 in Joey’s weekly challenge of nine tiles.

The pattern ginili reminds me of the common mallow (also called cheeseweed) that we have growing up here in the Northwest. (It’s called cheeseweed because when it goes to seed, the pods look like wheels of cheese.) I’ve been learning about the various plants and this one is actually edible. I put a bit in my salad the other day and I’m still alive.  🙂

catch up

I’m playing catch up on Joey’s weekly challenge where we are working through a group of nine tiles.

Here are tiles 2-4 to bring me up to date.

it’s smokin’!

I live in Washington state. We’ve been covered by smoke for the last few weeks. First from fires in Canada and now from fires in Montana and Idaho. I’m grateful we are not on fire, but the smoke is up to hazardous levels in our area, so I am living by my hepa filter.

I got a little silly the other night and created a tile in “honor” of all the smoke.

The chicken in the foreground is Matilda the rogue chicken (she routinely escapes from the coop and has influenced others with her roguish behavior).

mostly done

I ran across braidle (a new-to-me pattern) and just had to give it a try.

The site’s coming along nicely. I have all the pages back up except for the pattern gallery. That’s going to be a bit of work and will likely take me several weeks to finish.
