the hunt was a bust
Well, we finally made time to search for morel mushrooms. You look for a place that has a burn in the near past, recent rain, and a nice sunny day.
Washington countryside (impacted by fire and probably some logging)
Apparently, it was a little too cold. We found a couple of small morels here and there, but for the most part, it was a bust. My daughter-in-law did find some coral mushrooms (which are very yummy fried up in butter).
We also stopped by an amazing mountain spring that had been turned into a water spot. Here’s my grandson in little boy heaven. Puddles everywhere.
And here is more of the May color challenge. Love my tangle*a*day calendar.
