cheeseweed’s cousin

This week we’re on tile #6 in Joey’s weekly challenge of nine tiles.

The pattern ginili reminds me of the common mallow (also called cheeseweed) that we have growing up here in the Northwest. (It’s called cheeseweed because when it goes to seed, the pods look like wheels of cheese.) I’ve been learning about the various plants and this one is actually edible. I put a bit in my salad the other day and I’m still alive.  🙂

patterns: ginili, zippa, and wacho
materials: 3.5″ square tile, black micron, and pencil

And here’s a look at the nine patch in progress.

  1. Love this! I like the simplicity of it, the minimalism, I guess you could call it.
